The Lancet

I like to keep up with what is going on in the medical field. I like to check different sites to see what is going on; typically I check about 3 or 4 of them at least once a week. One of my favorites is TheLancet.com. It's a good site with a variety of stories. I also feel like if I do this I will have an edge over everyone else because I will already know what is going on. I like to just learn and expand my knowledge on things that interest me.

One of the featured articles this week was about a new way to check for cancers. Particularly prostate cancers. Typically, a male would need to have some sort of biopsy that led to pain, bleeding and infection. With new technology and procedures, a multi parametric MRI could be used instead. This new procedure could lead to better accuracy and less pain due to incisions and such.
